Uses and Applications

Caricature illustrations can be printed on posters, canvas, mugs, t-shirts, canvas bags to just about any material you desire. These media are ideal for gifts (birthdays, anniversaries, retirements), holiday and thank-you cards, weddings (save-the-dates, invitations, sign-in boards) and corporate branding.

Rates

Our rates are based on the amount of detail and the complexity of the story you want to tell. Our typical turn-around is two weeks, but we have options for rush delivery.

Editing Process

Included in the cost of a caricature commission is the concept sketch, editing and fine-lining and coloring. We usually build in a 1-2 rounds of edits early into the drafting, before Dave begins coloring. We provide our clients with a Illustration Process Diagram, which shows how our workflow unfolds. This manages expectations for both the client and CCBD.

Deliverables

Also included in the commissioning of art are any three file types for your use (e.g. JPG, PNG, TIFF, PDF, AI, etc.).

What is not included is printing: We upload your file(s) to the local printing company of your choice, and all you have to do is pick up the print(s) and pay for them direct at your printing company. Costs for high-resolution prints can cost from $2 for 11"x17" to $50 for poster-size. Printing on other media like t-shirts, mugs, or canvas can range from $10 to hundreds of dollars, depending on printed size.

Discounts

We offer discounts and payment plans should you want commission Dave for a bulk order of caricatures.

Gift caricatures and personal commissions are not quick sketches but custom contemporary art to be framed and shared with family, friends and clients for years to come. Clients can choose to order a simple portrait or avatar for social media or business cards, or they can commission an elaborate illustration that shows one or dozens of people in a humorous situation with a detailed background.

Dave can draw a caricature commission using the client's emailed or uploaded photos or videos. Upon a project deposit, Dave can meet you in person at a local coffee shop to sketch your ideas.
